How To Reach Rengchi River

How to Reach

By Air:

Guwahati International Airport: The nearest major airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Guwahati, Assam (approx. 250-280 KMS). From there, hire a private taxi or take a bus to Baghmara.

By Train:

Guwahati Railway Station: The nearest major railway station is

Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) (approx. 320 KMS). From Guwahati, one must continue the journey by road (bus or hired taxi) to Baghmara.

By Road:

Via Shillong/Guwahati: Baghmara is the administrative headquarters and is well-connected by state highways. One can hire a cab from Shillong (approx. 287 KMS) or Tura (approx. 113 KMS). The journey is long and scenic but roads can be challenging, especially during the monsoon.

By Local Transport:

Shared Sumo/Jeep: Within the Baghmara area, the river access points are best reached by hiring a local taxi, known locally as a Sumo or a jeep, which are essential for navigating the rural roads.
