How to Reach

By Air: Ranchi Airport is the nearest major domestic airport, located roughly 160 KMS from Surajkund. Another option is the Gaya Airport, which is about 130 KMS away. From either airport, hiring a long-distance cab is the most convenient way to reach the hot springs via the Grand Trunk Road.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Hazaribagh Road (HZD) at Sariya, which is about 31 KMS from Surajkund. Alternatively, Koderma Station is about 45 KMS away. Both stations are well-connected to Kolkata and Delhi. From the station, you can take a shared jeep or a private taxi to Barkatha block.

By Road: Surajkund is located directly on NH-19 (GT Road), making it very easy to reach by car. It is about 72 KMS from Hazaribagh town. State transport buses and private luxury buses running between Ranchi and Dhanbad or Kolkata stop at Barkatha, from where the springs are just a short auto-ride away.

By Local Transport: Shared jeeps are the lifeline of this route. You can find them frequently moving between Barhi and Bagodar. Just tell the driver to drop you at the "Surajkund Mor. " From the turn-off on the highway, local rickshaws can take you to the temple complex in less than 10 minutes.
