How To Reach Tuirial Airfield

This site served as a vital military airstrip during World War II, played a role in the defense of the region against advancing forces, and later functioned as the primary air gateway for Mizoram before the commissioning of Lengpui Airport. Today, it remains a sprawling open space surrounded by the rolling hills of the Tuirial River valley, offering a quiet escape from the urban hustle of Aizawl. Visitors often come here to walk along the old runway, which is now partially reclaimed by nature but still clearly visible as a testament to the past. By Air: The nearest active airport is Lengpui Airport, about 32 KMS from Aizawl, from where you can hire a taxi to Tuirial.
