Kalimath Temple

Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, India
Kalimath is one of the 108 Shakti Peeths in India. It is situated on the banks of the Saraswati River at an altitude of 1,800 meters. Unlike other temples, there is no idol of the Goddess here; instead, a silver plate (Sri Yantra) covers a sacred pit where the Goddess is said to have entered the ea rth after killing the demon Raktabija. This site is considered highly powerful in the Tantric tradition. The temple is surrounded by peaks and dense forests, creating a mystical atmosphere. It is the only Siddha Peeth in the Kedarnath valley. Many devotees visit this temple during Navratri to seek blessings for protection and strength.
