Kartik Swami Temple

Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, India
Perched at an altitude of 3,050 meters, this temple is dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, the elder son of Lord Shiva. It is located on a narrow ridge that offers a 360-degree view of the Himalayas, including peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba. To reach the temple, one must undertake a 3 KM t rek from the village of Kanakchauri. The trek is moderate and passes through dense forests of Oak and Rhododendron. The temple is famous for the thousands of bells tied by devotees whose wishes have been fulfilled. The sunrise and sunset from this ridge are considered some of the best in the entire Garhwal region. It is a place of profound silence and spiritual elevation.
