Maithon Dam

One of its most significant architectural features is the underground power station, which was the first of its kind in South East Asia. This power station is carved deep within the left bank of the river, housing three units of 20 MW each. The spillway consists of 12 radial gates designed to manage heavy discharge during the monsoon. The base width of the concrete section is approximately 10. 67 meters, providing immense stability against the water pressure. -
