Mankameshwar Temple
Origin and Legend: This is one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Agra, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Legend states that the Shiva Linga here was established by Lord Shiva himself during the Dwapar Yuga when he descended from Mount Kailash to see the infant Lord Krishna in Mathura. The name Mankame shwar translates to "God who fulfills wishes" (Man: desire, Kameshwar: God). This deep mythological connection makes it a vital pilgrimage site for Hindus.
