Radha Raman Temple

Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, India (Country):
The Radha Raman Temple is one of the most revered in Vrindavan, housing a self-manifested deity of Lord Krishna (Radha Raman, meaning Radha's lover), who miraculously appeared from a sacred Shaligram Shila in 1542 CE. The deity was the personal shaligram of Gopala Bhatta Goswami, one of the Six Gosw amis. The deity is unique as it is a three-fold bending figure (Tri-bhangananda) and, unlike most deities, Radha is not represented by a physical idol but by a crown placed next to Krishna's idol, symbolizing her presence. The temple is one of the "seven Thakur temples of Vrindavan" and maintains an extremely high standard of service (seva). The most intriguing feature is the eternal flame (Akhand Jyoti) burning in the kitchen, said to have been continuously lit since the temple's founding. It remains a deeply traditional and non-commercialized center of worship.:

    Traditional Braj Temple Style:

Materials and Structure: Constructed largely of red sandstone and traditional stone, it is a mid-sized, classic North Indian temple complex. The architecture is a simple, sober Braj style, similar to the other Goswami temples of the 16th century, though it was later renovated.

Key Architectural Elements: The main shrine is housed in a traditional mandapam (pillared hall). The unique, intricate wooden door and the old Chhatri (pillared pavilion) within the complex are notable.

Dimension: It is relatively compact, located deep within the crowded, narrow lanes of the old town, close to Seva Kunj and Nidhivan. :
