Ramakkalmedu Details : Ramakkalmedu is a majestic hill station and a historic site located in the Idukki district, offering some of the most spectacular panoramic views in all of Kerala. Standing at an altitude of 3,500 feet, it is legendary for its association with the Ramayana, as it is believed that Lord Rama set his foot here while searching for Sita. The highlight of this place is the massive Kuravan and Kurathi statue, which depicts a legendary tribal couple associated with the history of the Idukki Arch Dam. The area is also known as one of Asia's largest wind-blowing sites, with constant winds blowing at a speed of about 35 km per hour throughout the year. As you stand on the edge of the cliffs, you can see the sprawling plains of Tamil Nadu, including the towns of Cumbum and Theni, laid out like a colorful carpet below.
