Burhanpur Black Tajmahal
Historical Significance: The monument is the tomb (Makbara) of Shah Nawaz Khan, the valiant son of Abdul Rahim Khan-i-Khana (Mughal governor of Khandesh), who died around 1619-1620 at age 44. Nicknamed the "Black Taj Mahal" because of the black basalt stone used in its construction and its architect ural resemblance to the grand mausoleum, it predates the main Taj Mahal in Agra.
