How to Reach
By Train: Nearest major station is Jammu Tawi (JAT). Road journey to Srinagar, then transfer to the trek base like Naranag or Sonamarg.
By Road: Reach Sonamarg first (approx. 80 km from Srinagar). The lake is reached via a demanding multi-day trek (approx. 40 km one-way from Shitkadi) or a slightly shorter trek from Naranag.
By Local Transport: Hire a taxi from Sonamarg to the trek starting point. The remaining journey is by foot or pony/horse.
