Manipur is one of the world' s most bio-diverse regions for orchids, and the Orchidarium serves as a critical ex situ conservation center to protect the rare and endangered varieties from environmental threats.Vast Collection and Endemic Species: The garden is spread over a massive area of around 200 acres and houses an astonishing collection of over 500 varieties of orchids, many of which are endemic to the region. Key genera include Vanda, Dendrobium, and Rhynchostylis, featuring famous local species like Vanda coerulea (Kwaklei) and Rhynchostylis retusa (Samjirei).Peak Blooming Season: The most captivating feature is the peak blooming season, which runs from April to July, though the finest viewing period is generally considered to be from March to April.
