Trek Overview: The Kuari Pass Trek, also known as the Lord Curzon Trail, is one of the most accessible and popular moderate treks in the Garhwal Himalayas. It offers an unparalleled 360-degree panoramic view of some of India's highest and most majestic peaks, including Nanda Devi (7,816m), Kamet, Dr onagiri, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and the Hathi-Ghodi peaks. The trek typically takes 5 to 6 days to complete, starting from a point near Joshimath and reaching an altitude of 3,820 meters (12,532 feet). How to Reach

By Air (Nearest Airport): The nearest major airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (DED), approximately 270-280 KMS from Joshimath. From the airport, one must hire a pre-booked taxi or take a state-run bus to reach Joshimath. The drive takes approximately 8 to 10 hours. Booking a group taxi is the most convenient option.

By Train (Nearest Railway Station): The nearest major railway station is Rishikesh (RKSH) or Haridwar (HW), both approximately 250-270 KMS from Joshimath. From the station, frequent bus services (Uttarakhand Roadways) and shared/private taxis are available along the NH7 (old NH-58) towards Badrinath. The train journey should be planned to arrive early morning to allow for a daytime road journey to Joshimath.

By Road (Base Camp): Joshimath is the primary base camp for the trek and is extremely well-connected by road. State buses and private taxis run daily from major hubs like Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Haridwar. The journey is scenic, following the Alaknanda River, but is long and winding, passing through holy confluences (Panch Prayag).

By Local Transport (Trailhead): From Joshimath, the start of the trek is reached via a short drive (13-15 KMS) to villages like Dhak or Auli (depending on the itinerary). This is best done via a pre-arranged local taxi or jeep provided by the trekking company. Public transport options to the exact trailhead are limited, making pre-booking essential for a smooth start. :
