By Local Transport (Restricted Access): The final journey to Pullumedu is not possible via public local transport like auto-rickshaws or general taxis.
Mandatory Forest Vehicle/Guide: Access is only granted through official, forest-department-approved vehicles or as part of a guided trekking group leaving from the Periyar Tiger Reserve check-post near Kumily. Visitors must be escorted at all times. The route involves a long drive/trek through rough, restricted forest roads. No private vehicle is allowed beyond the check-post without special, high-level permission.
