By Train (From Dimapur): From Dimapur Railway Station (DMV) (215 KMS), take a shared taxi or bus to Imphal, and then hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw for the final 16-19 KMS to Singda on the Kangchup Road.
By Road (Kangchup Road Drive): The dam is reached via the Kangchup Road from Imphal. This is a famous, scenic drive, making a private car or hired taxi the best mode of transport. The route is clearly marked, and all local drivers are familiar with the destination. The last few kilometers are on a picturesque but sometimes winding and narrow road.
By Local Transport (Hired/Reserved Taxis): Due to the distance and the remote location, it is highly recommended to hire a taxi for a round trip or book a taxi for the full day from Imphal. Auto-rickshaws may not be suitable for the remote, uphill road and are less likely to be found for the return journey, making a pre-arranged transport a must for safety and convenience. :
