Architectural Style and Features: The Pancha Ratna Temple is a quintessential example of the Pancha-Ratna style, characterized by a central octagonal tower surrounded by four square towers at the corners, all rising from a curved roof. The temple is built of laterite bricks and stands on a low platform. The temple has triple-arched passages on all four sides, a feature that distinguishes it from other temples. The central tower is the tallest and most prominent, while the corner towers are smaller. The intricate terracotta panels are integrated into the brickwork, covering almost every available surface.

Dimensions and Terracotta Artistry: The temple is a square structure, measuring approximately 11. 4 meters on each side. The maximum height from the base to the top of the central tower is about 10. 7 meters. The terracotta work is exceptionally detailed and is considered some of the finest in Bishnupur. The panels showcase a variety of themes, including the Rasachakra (a circular depiction of Lord Krishna and the gopis), scenes from the Mahabharata (Indra fighting on his mount Airavata), the Ramayana, and various aspects of Krishna Lila. The intricate designs on the walls, pillars, and arches are a testament to the high level of artistry achieved during the Malla period.
