From here, one can catch the first glimpses of the snow-clad peaks of the Mount Pandim and Kabru ranges. The roofs are slanted at a 45-degree angle to ensure that snow and rain slide off easily. The interiors feature basic wooden flooring and small windows designed to trap heat during the freezing nights. The structures are built on raised stone plinths to protect against damp ground. There are no modern concrete buildings, as all materials must be carried up by mules. -
