How to Reach
By Train: The Dehradun Railway Station is the closest railhead. Several overnight trains from Delhi, such as the Nanda Devi Express, arrive early in the morning, which is perfectly timed to catch the morning buses or shared cabs to Sankri.
By Road: This is the most common way to reach. The journey from Dehradun to Sankri takes about 8 to 10 hours via Mussoorie, Purola, and Mori. The road is scenic but winding, following the Tons River for a significant portion. Private taxis can be hired for around INR 5,500 to 7,000.
By Local Transport: Direct government and private buses leave from the Mussoorie Bus Stand (near Dehradun Railway Station) early in the morning between 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM. Shared jeeps (Boleros) are also available from the same location and are a faster, albeit more crowded, alternative.
