How To Reach Tikarpada Nature Camp
Angul, Odisha, India
Tikarpada Nature Camp is the premier eco-tourism destination in the Angul district, located within the Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary. This camp is situated on the banks of the Mahanadi River, offering an unparalleled view of the majestic gorge. It is designed for those who want to live "in the wild" without sacrificing basic comforts. The camp consists of several well-maintained tents and cottages that are managed by the Forest Department and local community members. The primary attraction here is the Gharial Research and Conservation Unit (GRACU), where visitors can see crocodiles and turtles being bred for conservation. The camp serves as a base for multiple adventure activities, including trekking through the dense deciduous forests and boating on the deep waters of the Mahanadi. The experience of staying here is defined by the absence of urban noise and the presence of pure, unadulterated nature. At night, the camp is lit by minimal solar power, allowing for incredible views of the starry sky. The local staff provides authentic Odia meals, often using fresh local ingredients. For nature enthusiasts, Tikarpada is not just a place to stay; it is an educational journey into the heart of Odisha's wilderness, highlighting the delicate balance between human tourism and wildlife preservation. :
