Krantitirth is a magnificent, sprawling memorial complex built near Mandvi (a town near Bhuj) to honor the great Indian freedom fighter, lawyer, and journalist Shyamji Krishna Varma. Born in Mandvi on October 4, 1857, Varma was a pioneering revolutionary who established the India House in London in 1905, which became a crucial center for the Indian independence movement abroad. He propagated the cause through his journal, The Indian Sociologist. The memorial complex, built by the Gujarat government, aims to educate the younger generation about his life and the sacrifices of other revolutionaries.
