By Train:The nearest railway station is Omkareshwar Road (OM), about 12 KMS from Omkareshwar town. However, Khandwa Junction (KNW) (75 KMS) and Indore Junction (INDB) are better connected major hubs. From the Omkareshwar Road station, an auto-rickshaw is the only reliable option. From Khandwa or Indore, taxis or buses are available to Omkareshwar town.
By Road: Omkareshwar is well-connected by state and national highways. Regular public and private bus services run from Indore (77 KMS), Ujjain (133 KMS), and Khandwa (75 KMS). A self-drive or hired taxi is the most convenient way. From the Omkareshwar bus stand, local transport (auto-rickshaw/local taxi) is necessary to reach the secluded ashram, which is 9 KMS away.
By Local Transport: From the main Omkareshwar Temple area/bus stand, an auto-rickshaw is the best way. Negotiate the fare beforehand, as the location is slightly remote. Some visitors prefer to hire a bike/scooter for the entire day.
