Narsinhwadi Datta Mandir

Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India
This holy pilgrimage site is situated at the confluence of the Krishna and Panchganga rivers. It is dedicated to Narsinh Saraswati, who lived here for 12 years and is considered the second incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. The temple is unique because there is no idol, but instead, the Swayambhu Padu kas (footprints) are worshipped. Devotees believe that a dip in the holy river here washes away sins and brings mental peace. The atmosphere is filled with Vedic chants and the soothing sound of the flowing river. Many pilgrims visit to perform special rituals like the Guru Charitra Parayan to seek spiritual growth and relief from worldly troubles. The surrounding Audumbar trees add to the sanctity and natural beauty of the area.
