How to Reach

By Air: The Umroi Airport (SHL) is located very close to the town (about 15 KMS away). It has flights from Kolkata and Silchar. However, most travelers use the Guwahati Airport and drive down as it has more options.

By Road: It is situated right on the National Highway 6, making it very easy to reach. It is about 50 KMS from Guwahati and 30 KMS from Shillong. Shared taxis and buses between these two cities pass through the town frequently.

By Train: The nearest railhead is Guwahati Railway Station, about 60 KMS away. From the station, you can take any taxi or bus heading towards Shillong. The drive is smooth and takes about 1. 5 to 2 hours.

By Local Transport: Local taxis and small vans are used for traveling between nearby villages. For exploring spots like Dwar Ksuid, it is best to hire a taxi from the town market. Many people also use their own vehicles or bikes to get around.
