How To Reach Guptar Ghat
Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India
Guptar Ghat is fundamentally a sacred place of Jal Samadhi, where the divine act of Lord Rama relinquishing his earthly form to ascend to Vaikunth (as mentioned in the Skandh Purana) took place, making the Saryu River at this spot extremely holy; the site has successfully blended its ancient spiritu al allure with modern amenities, featuring jetties for boat rides, an interpretation center, and renovated steps leading to the river, making it a major tourist and pilgrimage destination; the surrounding area, previously known as Company Garden and now as Guptar Ghat Van, adds a layer of natural beauty and tranquility, offering a stark contrast to the religious intensity of the temples; the complex hosts a spiritual center, Kartikeya Seva Sadan, associated with Saint Kartikeya, which adds to its sanctity and tradition of Bhakti (devotion); the presence of numerous ancient temples, including the Chakra Hari Vishnu Temple with Lord Rama's supposed footprints, anchors the site's mythological past to the present, attracting serious pilgrims and mythology enthusiasts alike.
