Hotels In Fatehgarh Sahib

Punjab, India
Fatehgarh Sahib is a city of profound historical and religious significance for Sikhs. Its name, meaning "Fort of Victory," belies a heartbreaking history. The city is the site where Guru Gobind Singh's two youngest sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, were bricked alive by the M ughals in 1705 for refusing to renounce their faith. Their grandmother, Mata Gujri, also attained martyrdom here. The city stands as a powerful symbol of unwavering faith, sacrifice, and courage. The main Gurudwara complex, which includes several shrines, commemorates this supreme sacrifice. Every year, the city attracts millions of pilgrims during the annual Shaheedi Jor Mela, a three-day religious gathering to honor the young martyrs. The city is a living monument to the heroic struggle of the Sikhs for religious freedom.
