By Train: Take a local train from Sealdah Station to Namkhana. The journey takes about 3 hours. From Namkhana, cross the Hatania-Doania creek via the bridge (formerly by ferry) and take a bus or toto to reach Bakkhali.

By Road: Bakkhali is well-connected to Kolkata by road via Diamond Harbour and Kakdwip. State-run WBTC buses and private buses operate regularly from Esplanade.
